Ear, Nose and Throat Associates of SECT has partnered with BioTek Services to provide comprehensive in-office evaluation and treatment for a large variety of inhalant allergies.
What Are Allergies?
Allergies are your body’s way of overreacting to everyday substances in your environment, such as pollen, mold, and dust. When your immune system identifies these particles as threats, it triggers an inflammatory response that can lead to sneezing, sinus pressure, congestion, and more.
Because allergic reactions often look similar to sinus infections or other ENT issues, our team starts with a thorough nasal exam using specialized scopes and imaging. That means your treatment is never one-size-fits-all—it’s tailored to your anatomy, symptoms, and needs.
Allergy Testing
Our allergy testing focuses on airborne allergens, the things you breathe in every day that can silently trigger inflammation. Using a quick, non-invasive scratch test, our clinical lab specialist (CLS) will check your body’s response to 58 common triggers, including:
- Tree and grass pollens (like pecan, cedar, and Bermuda grass)
- Mold and fungus
- Dust mites
- Pet dander
Before testing, you’ll meet with our ENT team for a full evaluation. We’ll review your history, examine your nasal and sinus anatomy, and determine whether allergy testing is the right next step. Patients age six and older are eligible, and we make sure you’re off certain medications to ensure accurate results.
Allergy Treatment Options
In-Office Allergy Shots
Allergy injections are administered in a clinical setting with supervision and a short observation period to ensure safety. This approach suits patients who value in-person care and have the flexibility to visit regularly.
In-Office and At-Home Injections (Hybrid Model)
At-home injections offer a flexible and convenient option for patients, especially busy professionals and parents, who need allergy care to fit their schedules. After receiving their first injection in the office, patients are guided through a thorough, step-by-step training to ensure they feel confident and safe administering injections at home. They then return every two months for follow-up visits, during which they receive their next ramp-up dose and new vials.
